How does our Pickleball Analytics Work?
We take video footage on your game and ‘CODE’ the shots that players make. This coding will give Analysis on all the shots that have been made and is entered automatically into our pioneering analysis model, run through the Hudl Performance Analysis platform.
STEP 1
Through the Analysis model, coded shots are categorised and quantified. Each shot type (e.g. forehand) is broken down into several sub-elements like forehand dink, forehand drop etc.. and given values relating to consistency and attack.

STEP 3
The Model produces overview commentary on all key shot Categories. The commentary presents percentage values relating to consistency and attack and associated observations. Tactical takeaways are included in the commentary, as are summarised Performance remarks
The Model produces an overview Dashboard that presents a rating for each of the four main shot Categories and an Overall Performance Rating (OPR), which represents the aggregation of all shots that have coded for that particular game. The Dashboard is a powerful tool in assessing your performance.

With detailed performance coding of one session, This package includes everything within the Early Insights package, enhanced by deeper shot profiling and advanced visual breakdowns of underlying metrics, that contribute to forehand, backhand, serve, return and overall rating.
Elite-Level Performance Intelligence Across Multiple Matches
The ELITE Package is our most advanced and comprehensive analysis offering. Designed for serious competitors, performance-driven athletes, and teams preparing for peak competition, this package delivers the highest level of accuracy, clarity, and strategic insight. This package includes 3 coding sessions across three separate matches, providing a powerful data set that reveals true performance patterns — not just one-match trends. It includes everything within the Deeper Dive Package, elevated through multi-match comparison, advanced performance averaging and integrated video reinforcement.
*All Package sessions will integrate a minimum 20 minutes of game footage, or the entirety of a match, if it is completed within 20 minutes

Sam CRIBB
Founder/Performance Director
Sam is the Founder of Moneyball Analytics and is an accomplished tennis and pickleball player, as well as being a ITF Level 1 certified tennis coach. Sam has achieved a Bachelor degree in Sports and majored in Performance Analysis and Leadership. Sam’s experience in performance analysis and coaching is extensive, with stints working with rugby and netball organisations, as well as undertaking analysis and coaching for Elevate Tennis Academy. His expertise has been recognised on the international sporting stage and Sam has been engaged by the organisers of the Australian Tennis Open as a Statistician for the 2025 and 2026 Events.
Sam has combined his extensive playing and coaching experience to develop a powerful performance analysis platform for pickleball, utilising statistical data derived from video footage. He continues to develop this pioneering analysis model and founding Moneyball Analytics is the next phase for Sam, in what is already an impressive contribution to racquet sport performance analysis.
Jason WATKINS
Jason, has over 15 years experience in the Sport Sector in New Zealand. He has been the CEO of several sports franchises and organisations and held senior roles in National Sports Organisations. Additionally, Jason has been engaged by numerous organisations in the NZ Sport sector, as a Management Consultant,. Through these contracts he has undertaken projects for Sports organisations across major events feasibility, commercialisation, sponsorship and strategy.
Managing Director
Moneyball Analytics has engaged a team of Performance Analysts, that have extensive experience with sport coding, the Hudl Analytics software and the Moneyball performance model for Pickleball. These Analysts will access the game video footage through streaming over the Internet and code the game and generate the Analytics for individual games within 24 hours.
